When you use SMS Expense Tracker, we collect:
- Phone number: Your mobile phone number, used to identify your account and send/receive messages
- Expense data: The amounts, descriptions, categories, and timestamps of expenses you log
- Receipt images: Photos of receipts you send via MMS for automatic expense logging
- Message content: The text messages you send to the service
How We Use Your Information
Your information is used solely to provide the expense tracking service:
- Store and organize your expense records
- Generate summaries, totals, and spending analysis
- Process receipt images to extract expense information
- Respond to your commands and queries
- Generate CSV exports when requested
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate:
- AI Processing: We use OpenAI to parse natural language messages and analyze receipt images. Message content and images are sent to OpenAI for processing but are not stored by them for training purposes.
- SMS Delivery: We use Telnyx to send and receive SMS/MMS messages.
- Hosting: Our service runs on Cloudflare infrastructure.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
Data Retention
Your expense data is retained indefinitely until you request deletion. You can delete individual entries by texting "delete [ID]" or all data by texting "delete all".
Data Security
Your data is stored securely using industry-standard practices. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your data: Text "list" or "export" to see your expense records
- Delete your data: Text "delete all" to remove all your expense records
- Stop the service: Text "STOP" to unsubscribe at any time
Children's Privacy
This service is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
